Montenegro Discovery Tour!
Our “Montenegro Discovery Tour” features the highlights of North and South Montenegro, including the beautiful Biogradska Gora – one of the last three primaeval rainforests in Europe, Durmitor National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage site, Lovcen National Park, Skadar Lake National Park, and the fjord-like Kotor Bay, considered one of the most breathtaking bays in Europe.
Our walks in nature are combined with must-see visits to Kotor, a UNESCO-listed Culturo-Historical city, the small baroque town Perast, the Montenegrin metropolis of tourism Budva, the Old town of Bar, the Old Capital of Montenegro – Cetinje.
The diverse flora and fauna of Biogradska Gora National Park are an amazing treasure of nature. Due to its immense natural wealth and its preservation, Biogradska Gora National park was proclaimed a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site.
Durmitor National Park is the largest National Park in Montenegro and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Park is characterized by diversified ecosystems and numerous endemic species, as well as the highest peaks of the Dinaric mountains, Tara River Canyon, which was proclaimed a world ecological reserve, 18 glacial lakes known as “the mountain eyes” of which the Black Lake is the most famous.
Lake Skadar National Park is the largest lake in the Balkans and one of the biggest bird reserves in Europe. Our task is to introduce you to the wild beauty of Lake Skadar. The best way to explore the lake is to rent a boat and take a ride at the lake.

An excellent introduction to Montenegro, this walking tour is graded as easy and probably fits well within the easy grade apart from the 7th-day walk. The weather was very warm (for September) and we had no need for the recommended warm/wet weather clothing as advised in the tour notes.
Although the walks are not too challenging in distance, there are a lot of steps; this combined with walking on light coloured paths which reflect the sun can be very tiring. Boots with good ankle support are needed for the 7th-day walk, but walking shoes were fine for the other days.
We loved Kotor and would recommend the trip out to the Lady of the Rock. We would have liked more time in Kotor to explore, we walked around the walls which were great (lots of photo opportunities).
Lots of lovely ice-creams which were surprisingly very cheap.
A great bunch of people on the tour with a good mix of ages and experience.

The tour was fantastic. The only slight negative I can express was for some of the accommodations could have been better, especially the last night. But all in all, the tour was great.

The Trip Leader’s enthusiasm for the country and his wonderful personality contributed so much toward making this a fabulous trip.

A really enjoyable trip with stunningly beautiful scenery in Montenegro. There was a good variety of walking, exploring towns interspersed with boat trips, ferry rides and time for swimming.
