Jeep day tour in Montenegro!
The route of the tour: PODGORICA – KUCKA KRAJINA – KOMOVI -KOLASIN – PODGORICA
Overview
Kuci Mountains, one of the less famous pearls of the Montenegrin Dinarides, is almost untouched, undisturbed and until recently a very hard-to-reach area. Even though they are quite close to the capital of Montenegro, this is a peaceful place located northeast of Podgorica, along the Montenegrin-Albanian border. Kucka Krajina is a vast karst plateau from which groups of mountain ranges, individual peaks and mountains rise.
Rikavac Lake, another discovery of magical natural harmony, is located below the magnificent and elegant 2093 meters high peak of Vila, at the point where the wreath of the Kuci Mountains separates from the Prokletije mountain range. This beautiful, clear, glacial lake lies at an altitude of 1313 meters. Interestingly, even today there is no electricity network or signal for mobile phones in this area.
The furthest area from the village in the region of Kuci is Carina Pass and Katun, an extraordinarily large area rich in water, vast pastures, and forests. There is also a church dedicated to Saint Elijah. Built at 1800 meters above sea level, it is a place of prayer at the highest altitude in Europe.
Komovi are not just mountains, they are an inexhaustible inspiration for poets, mountaineers and travel writers as well as for all the people who visit them in search of peace, beauty, freedom and tranquillity. After this panoramic tour, you will be able to understand why people always come back to Komovi, why they have been sung about since ancient times, why “fairies gather there and swim at their springs” and why hikers admire them.

We had a blast going to the ruins, our tour guide was super knowledgeable and was making sure that everyone was comfortable. He was very professional and followed COVID guidelines.
I will definitely be back and try their other tours.

My husband is a planner and part of his plan was to see as much as possible in our short trip to Montenegro and not hear me complain about my body aching from too much hiking. He’s the type that packs so much into a vacation that I need a vacation after coming home from vacation. So he cleverly cheated and booked a Wild Montenegro Jeep tour to keep mileage off my feet. The Tour lasted about 12 hours and allowed us to visit landmarks like Lake Rikavac and the sharp peaks of Komovi and all the beautiful views along the trail in a Jeep. Overall, I had a really good time!

Tons of great places to hike in Montenegro and just too little time! We decided to book with Wild Montenegro to squeeze out all the hiking in a short time frame. The bumpy and high incline jeep ride is a fun experience. Be sure to book well in advance! I booked their most popular tour a week earlier and snagged the last 9 am spot on a Sunday at the end of September.
